I've been in software development in some form for 3 decades, and I know that most applications stove-pipe their data, making it hard to integrate and analyze. Using web-scale data modeling standards and taking a data-centric focus, I believe organizations can greatly reduce the effort and cost of leveraging data/information/knowledge.
